2022 Summer College Internships

Silicon Ranch has opened applications for its 2022 Summer College Internships. With opportunities for participants to apply and hone the skills they are learning in the classroom at one of the largest independent power producers in a rapidly growing industry, Silicon Ranch is looking for self-motivated students with varying backgrounds and skillsets—interested in a renewable energy future—to join our team for the summer. Civil Engineering – 1

  • Deep review of past projects breaking out what details were used, the quantities, possibility of backing out the old unit costs by year/region
  • Condition at the end of construction if photos are available and condition today, detail what sort of maintenance has been required since
  • Comb through our past projects and maintenance data for company insights

M/E Engineering – 1

  • “Reinvent” several of our engineering calculators that Silicon Ranch has used in the past
  • Aggregate engineering calculators into a useful platform for ease of use and adaptability
  • Create, analyze, edit, or re-write process documents for different engineering procedures

Sourcing Analyst Intern

  • Compile and categorize our project quotes and bids in a database to use for benchmarking
  • Build data base of approved suppliers used on past projects
  • Map out processes and write internal procedures for contract review, approval, and close out
  • Collect documentation on existing purchase orders and coordinate with finance and insurance to ensure compliance
  • Visit local project sites to confirm delivery of materials as needed

Regenerative Energy and Carbon Removal

  • Support the refinement of existing Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) program
  • Support the mapping of existing Biological Assets across Silicon Ranch’s fleet of power plants (wetlands, streams, timber, various agricultural production systems)
  • Support strategy development for formal carbon program and wetland mitigation banking program
