The PineBelt News reports that the Hattiesburg Solar Farm celebrated its first anniversary last month. Since then, the 50 MW of energy has provided electricity for 6,500 nearby homes. Mississippi Power, the Area Development Partnership, the city of Hattiesburg, Forrest County are all partners with Silicon Ranch—the largest independent solar power in Mississippi—who funded the $100,000 million development that features 198,548 fixed-tilt polycrystalline solar panels.
