Innovation Solar Farm generates more than 3.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, or enough to meet the annual needs of ~300 households.

The project is designed to help Nike meets its ambitious sustainability commitment to source 100% of its electricity from renewable sources of energy by 2025. Silicon Ranch assisted Nike in developing an innovative, corporate community solar offering, which will directly benefit the local community through participation of Nike employees. This effort resulted in Memphis, Light, Gas & Water being awarded a solar generation project through the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Distributed Solar Solutions pilot program.

Energy from the Innovation Solar Farm is delivered to TVA with the benefits conveyed to Nike to offset a portion of NALC’s load. The facility has zero carbon emissions, zero water consumption, and is expected is to replace almost 100,000 metric tons of CO2.

Helping to Power Nike’s Largest Distribution Center Worldwide

“As long-term owners of our projects, Silicon Ranch takes great pride in being excellent neighbors and active members in each community we serve. We especially love working in our home state and are grateful for the partnership we’ve developed with Nike, MLGW, and TVA. Each of these organizations deserves tremendous credit for their commitment to bring the economic, environmental and community benefits of solar energy to west Tennessee.”
