NASHVILLE, Tenn., September 26, 2018 – Silicon Ranch Corporation, the U.S. solar platform for Shell and one of America’s largest independent solar power producers, has announced key senior leadership promotions designed to support and advance the Tennessee-based company’s surging growth nationwide. Reagan Farr, co-founder of Silicon Ranch, has been named President; Michael Payne has been promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer; and Kati Cook has been promoted to the position of Vice President, Controller.
“We’re as committed to developing our people as we are world-class solar facilities, and that speaks volumes about the recent promotions of Kati, Michael, and my co-founder Reagan,” said CEO Matt Kisber. “Together, they represent Silicon Ranch’s greatest competitive advantage: our strong, talented team.” Founded in 2011, Silicon Ranch now operates more than 120 facilities in 14 states, including the first large-scale solar farms in Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
In addition to serving as Silicon Ranch’s President, Farr will continue in his role as Chief Operating Officer responsible for ongoing operations and execution of the company’s strategic growth plan. As co-founder, Farr has been instrumental to the company’s evolution, from developing the initial ambitious plan for Silicon Ranch to growing a company that has earned a global reputation as one of the premier solar energy providers in the industry. Farr brings a unique background to Silicon Ranch, having previously worked with KPMG and Ernst & Young, and served as both the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Revenue.
As Chief Financial Officer, Payne is responsible for the administrative, financial and risk management operations of the company. Since joining Silicon Ranch in 2016, Payne has played a critical role in improving the company’s financial systems and controls, internal and external reporting processes, and human resources function. Payne has over 18 years in financial reporting and accounting experience in a wide variety of industries for both public and private companies. Prior to joining Silicon Ranch, he worked on the corporate finance team of Asurion and previously worked for Ernst & Young.
Cook now heads Silicon Ranch’s accounting department as Controller, guiding the company’s financial decisions and facilitating the maintenance of the company’s financial health. She joined the company in 2017 as Assistant Controller and in just over a year has successfully built a high-value finance and accounting team, and significantly improved finance and accounting functions. Cook has substantial accounting and finance experience across multiple industries gained through her previous engagements with W Squared and Ernst & Young.
