Silicon Ranch, and local officials in Chickasaw County recently announced Silicon Ranch’s second investment in this community: a new $10 million solar field.

Houston, Miss. Mayor Stacey Parker said that the groundwork for this project was laid by students involved in a solar car project. Silicon Ranch President and CEO Matt Kisber visited the solar field site in Chickasaw County to talk solar power with the students who have been applying it on the racetrack. “They’re seeing it in the car which is one particular application. Here they’re seeing it as it works on the grid,” said Kisber.

The grid will soon receive energy to power up to 400 homes and businesses.
