VIDEO: Vegetation Harmonization

If left untreated, vegetation has the ability to cause all types of mayhem on a solar power plant including weeds that can get tangled up in the mechanics of a facility or dry out to provide fuel for wildfires.

That last concern is particularly true for solar power plants in the West where areas can go months without seeing rain.

But vegetation is also necessary to ensure that the soil supporting these facilities is secure and protected from erosion.

In this video, Silicon Ranch’s SVP of Technology and Asset Management, Nick de Vries is joined by Bob Campbell, the Site Manager for our Rattlesnake Solar Farm in Weld County, Colorado to discuss what Bob is looking out for on the ground to ensure that the vegetation is working with and not against the solar facility.
