Graham retired from a 35 year career with Shell in 2019, spending the last seven years as head of Shell’s Global Chemicals business, one of the largest chemicals businesses in the world. Prior to that he was Chairman of Shell UK as well as Executive Vice President of Shell’s Alternative Energies businesses and ‘Group CO2’, where he had responsibility for internal and external climate change policy. Under Graham’s leadership, Shell’s chemical business saw its highest levels of profitability in its history, supported by considerable restructuring to improve efficiency and performance delivery, divestments of non-strategic assets, and substantial new investments, principle of which were a second petrochemical complex in China and a ground-breaking new petrochemicals complex in Pennsylvania. Graham was on the executive committees for the American Chemistry Council, CEFIC – the European Chemical Industry Association, and ICCA, the Global Chemical Industry Association. He was a co-founder of the Alliance To End Plastic Waste, founded in 2019, and helped secure an initial funding for that body of $1.5 Billion. In addition to his board role at Silicon Ranch, Graham serves on the Advisory Board of Air Liquide North America and on the board of Bluescape Acquisitions Opportunity Corp.
