We Make Solar Do More™ Together
As the long-term owner and operator of all of our facilities, one of our core values at Silicon Ranch is that “We do what we say we will do”.
We respect the history and local identity of a place, and listen to the specific concerns of the people who live there. Watch what community members in Hattiesburg, Mississippi have to say about living next to a Silicon Ranch facility.
Our team measures and third-party verifies the ecological outcomes of our work, using the Savory Institute’s Land to Market Ecological Outcome Verification assessment methodology.
Upon request, Silicon Ranch documents immediate and long-term social, economic, and environmental outcomes (SROI) of our work with extensive third-party verified forecasting and improves investor transparency with detailed corporate responsibility reporting.
Through our Regenerative Energy® platform, we protect and restore the health of the land on which we build and operate our facilities. We operate our projects in alignment with natural systems to regenerate soil health, biodiversity, water quality, and habitat.
Clearloop®, a Silicon Ranch company, works with brands big and small that want to offset their carbon footprint, expand access to renewable energy by building solar projects in American communities where it can have the greatest impact.
Case Study: Bancroft Station Solar Farm was Meta’s first solar project in the state of Georgia
Meta chose Walton Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) as the power supplier for its data center in Newton County when it announced the facility in March 2018. As part of Walton EMC’s agreement to supply 100 percent renewable energy for the Newton Data Center, it announced a contract in December 2018 with Silicon Ranch to construct the Bancroft Station Solar Farm.
Silicon Ranch employed more than 675 people over a period of ten months to construct the project in Early County. We incorporated American made, locally-sourced solar modules that were among the first produced by Hanwha Q CELLS at its manufacturing facility, just up the road, in Whitfield County, Georgia. Craft workers assembled and installed single-axis trackers that utilize NextTracker’s TrueCapture smart control system to optimize and boost energy production.
The solar farm was Silicon Ranch’s first new-build site to incorporate our holistic approach to solar project design, construction, and land management, Regenerative Energy. The innovative approach keeps the Bancroft Station property in agricultural production, as adaptively-managed grazing livestock, diverse plant life, pollinator habitat, and wildlife work together to revitalize degraded soils, enhance biodiversity, make ecosystems more resilient, improve the watershed, and sequester carbon in the soil. Quantifiable ecological, economic, and social outcomes are backed by third-party verified standards.
