Litchfield, CT (May 19, 2020) –Silicon Ranch, one of the nation’s largest independent solar power producers, today announced a partnership with Eversource and United Illuminating Company to supply the Litchfield community with 20 megawatts (MWac) of clean, cost-effective solar power by July 2022.
Silicon Ranch will fund the construction of the facility and will own and operate the plant for the long-term, as it does with every project it develops across the country.
The Litchfield solar project will include more than 55,000 photovoltaic modules mounted on NEXTracker’s low impact fixed tilt racking system. Once complete, this solar farm will be one of the largest in Connecticut.
The construction phase of this world-class facility is expected to support more than 250 jobs, many of which will be filled with local labor and subcontractors and will inject millions of dollars of labor-related income into the local economy.
