As the Memphis Commercial Appeal proclaimed, “Who knew you could turn an eyesore into a flagship for green energy? That’s just what Memphis Bioworks will do this spring when 3,000 solar panels are installed on the top floor of an aging parking garage on Union Avenue.”
The parking deck now hosts 750 kilowatts of solar capacity and produces over 1,000 megawatt-hours of electricity annually.
