Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Solar Farm in Camden, Arkansas is the largest operating solar facility in the state. At the company’s “flip the switch” launch event, company executives gathered along with state government officials to introduce and celebrate the work of this impressive solar farm and to affirm the Arkansas and U.S. governments’ support for renewable energy.
“This solar farm represents an extension of the United States government’s commitment to conduct operations in an environmentally responsible manner, and we’re proud that our products in Camden are going to be made with approximately 30 percent renewable energy,” says Chris Conley, Aeroject Rocketdyne’s Vice President of Safety, Health, & Environmental (SH&E).
Aerojet Rocketdyne’s SH&E Strategist Erik Didriksen also affirmed the project’s effort being attributed to an incredible group of people who came together with a common belief that economic prosperity could be achieved through clean energy. Both U.S. Senator Tom Cotton and Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson were also present, offering similar remarks to affirm the positive role of renewable energy.
Silicon Ranch Corporation’s President and CEO, Matt Kisber, concluded by saying, “Forward-thinking companies like Aerojet Rocketdyne have an opportunity to drive change, and they’ve certainly applied that innovative spirit to introduce a meaningful renewable energy solution.”
