Construction began in March 2016 for the Hazelhurst Phase 2 Solar Facility in Hazelhurst, Georgia. The solar array will cover over 500 acres and will be the second large-scale solar facility brought online by Silicon Ranch Corporation (SRC) and Green Power EMC. SRC selected McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. to construct the facility, in which SRC will own and operate, providing cost-competitive power to Green Power EMC for the next 30 years.

As the Hazelhurst Phase 2 site’s construction progress continues, material deliveries are ongoing, pile driving continues in the south quadrant, modules and solar panels are being installed, and trenching and cable distribution have begun. This 9-month project will support over 200 local workers.

Together, the Hazelhurst Phase 1 and Phase 2 facilities will produce enough electricity to serve approximately 11,500 Green Power EMC households.
