Two new solar farms not far from Loveland could be just two months away from producing electricity for rural customers, according to the organization that will be buying the power.
Nashville-based Silicon Ranch started construction last month on two solar arrays in Weld County that will provide power for Poudre Valley REA.
The work should be complete in December, and it could start sending power into PVREA’s grid soon after, said Amy Blunck, communications director for the nonprofit cooperative that distributes electricity to more than 38,000 members in Larimer, Weld and Boulder counties.
