Snipesville Solar Ranch

Summary

Built in three phases, the Snipesville Solar Ranch in Denton, Georgia has a combined capacity to generate 300 MWAC of clean renewable power, enough to meet the electricity needs of more than 50,000 Georgia homes annually. This Ranch is the largest wholly owned and operated agrivoltaics operation in in the United States. Agrivoltaics combines solar power generation and agricultural production on one piece of land. Along with Houston Solar, Snipesville Solar Ranch is one of our flagship Regenerative Energy® agrivoltaics projects.

Silicon Ranch invests in agricultural expertise, infrastructure, and livestock to restore solar farm land. Snipesville Solar Ranch is home to a large flock of our company-owned Katahdin sheep and employs a team of full-time shepherds. The shepherds manage the sheep intentionally to restore soil health, biodiversity, and water quality as the animals graze and naturally fertilize 1,200 acres of land year-round. Our investments provide important benefits for the local community. These include increased revenues and employment for local businesses and new career opportunities for rural young people, whom we employ and train in regenerative land management.

In the Community

Silicon Ranch seeks opportunities to build relationships with educational institutions of all sizes and levels – from elementary schools to high schools to graduate programs. The company provides valuable training opportunities at Snipesville Solar Ranch for veterinary students while facilitating top-tier medical attention to the company’s sheep. We have partnered with the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine to complete bi-annual pregnancy checks on our large company-owned flock at Snipesville Solar Ranch and to support our vaccination program.
