Work Progresses at 450-Acre Hattiesburg Solar Farm

Construction continues to progress on Silicon Ranch’s 450-acre, 50 MW solar facility serving Mississippi Power just south of Hattiesburg. When completed, this solar farm will source enough electricity to power 6,500 homes through 650,000 solar panels.

“With a $90-million investment from Silicon Ranch, this project is already providing a boost to the local economy,” affirmed Pine Belt Division Manager, Michael Harvey. While the power is being purchased by Mississippi Power, Silicon Ranch is financing and will own the Hattiesburg project.

“We believe that solar energy projects—when developed responsibly—create enduring, long-term value and deliver a meaningful legacy for their communities,” explained Matt Kisber, president and CEO of Silicon Ranch Corporation. “We’re excited about this partnership with Mississippi Power, the city of Hattiesburg and Forrest County, as well as the Area Development Partnership.”
